There is no best programming language, Those language's are good on their own way. It all depends on what you are programmming or scripting and for what you are using it for. Like Wesley stated above, every programming language is unique in its own way but if I had to choose one it would be… Javascript. It's simple, fast, and is a flexible platform that is commonly used. Java can be found almost anywhere. From computers to mobile devices like iPhones to even this board! |

From what you've listed, I'd say JavaScript. I also know PHP but I don't really like it all too much.
Also, CSS isn't a programming language. |

The ones I like the most are C++, Java.
Pretty much all the languages you listed suck (except CSS, it isn't a programming language). The one that sucks less imo is Javascript. |

Also I tend to prefer C# for any non-Web stuff because it provides easy (but not always good) portability. C/C++ means have fun ensuring compatibility for 6563241121 different Linux distros. PHP is good for web stuff, but kinda blarg. For example their variable scope shit always fucks me over. I dont really prefer one over another, they can all be used for different things, but someone may still prefer BASIC over something like c++.
