I can steal Lakitu's cloud when shooting him. I have a level where in order to finish, you need the cloud. But, it would be easier to jump on him to steal the cloud. I could swear though that I have gotten Lakitu to give up the cloud by jumping on him. Is shooting him the only way to steal the cloud?

Hmmm...
I think yeah. You will need a flower, but I wouldn't recommend that, since mario can still be hurt after he got the flower. Then you cannot get the Coud anymore.  But: Probably you can steal his cloud by shooting a koopa on him.  Never tested it.

I feel like there's gotta be a sprite somewhere that is just the cloud.. like the gibs that appear when you break a block or a pipe.
Maybe there's a sprite data for lakitu to appear as the cloud at first? I wish I knew how to debug the game. |
