Okay. Thanks for responding. Is it okay to have a boss door lead to the original boss in the game or should I just have a flagpole or level ? ender sprite? I'm not sure where the level ? sprite is, and it's a castle level, but I don't know how to do custom bosses.

Also, where do I find out how to make lava and the candles get animated? I tried to do it how they did it in the original game, but I think I used a different tileset like in the video above, but the lava and candles will not animate.

Custom bosses arnt possible yet (Unless you wanna figure lots of stuff out) but if you do youll get 1st for shure. And the original bosses crash when not used in the right level so use the flag.

And the lava and candles are almost the same story, but there is a bg with candles and a lava sprite.

Okay, I found the lava sprite in the first castle, but when I try to make it rise, it either keeps on rising all the way to the top until you die or it doesn't rise at all.

Haven't checked your level yet but I guess your problem with the red coins is that you need to set the same input/output id in the ring and the coins. And that id shouldn't be 0.

About the level freezing, if you mean that all the sprites stop moving, that's normal, its how NSMB works and there's no way to change it (without asm)



Okay, thanks. I will try that, and I mean when I get the flag, everything just stops all of a sudden, and it doesn't return to the map, but TRS said to use the flag at the end. It's a castle level though so I hope the judges won't be really critical b/c I don't know how to make it work, and I don't know any ASM.

Edit: Has anyone played my level yet though? B/c I want to get feedback on the level design. I can't think of anything except I don't know how to control the camera.

What do you mean everything just stops?

If you mean Mario does the winning animation and then walks offscreen and then nothing happens, its because you have to place something solid in his way for the level to end. The castle tiles have some solid tiles you have to put on top to cause it. If you're unsure check the original levels.

When the entries get done being judged, is Raocow going to do a Let's Play Kamek's Revenge of all of the levels? It's funny when he does them or maybe someone should make a video w/all of the submissions. Oh, and I wanted someone to give me some feedback so I can update my level, but I tested it a lot of times, and like, I said, the midpoint, red coin ring, and flagpole all work fine now. I'm just not sure how the level design is.

TRS and I decided to expand the deadline for the contest in order to give more people a chance to participate. The new deadline is July 21st. For those you already finished their levels: you can use this time to give your level some extra testing and polishing.

Okay, that's good the deadline got extended. I hope people will test my level and give me some feedback. I think I might have made it a little bit too hard, but I don't know if it's just me or if I was tired when I was testing my level. I didn't want to play Let's Play Kamek's Revenge and make it too difficult, but I think it's easy at the beginning, and then it's like medium w/ a few hard parts like the lava rising. I don't want to give it all away, but let me know if you have any suggestions. Well, I was going to work on my SMW2 game for C3 on SMWCentral for now.

So my flash cart fell out of my pocket and broke upon hitting the ground. I'm trying to get a new one right now, but it might take a week or two. Thank goodness for the time extension.
