When people first started hacking, they thought it was impossible to edit MvsL levels.

---
-Eventually , it was discovered that very few blocks could be edited but none could be added and it was a tedious method.

-Adding blocks and deleting blocks became possible.

-Methods improved and could be done within the editor without having to extract NARCS etc.

-Selecting tilesets and actually making custom tilesets became possible.

-Selecting backgrounds ( only some ) and creating backgrounds became possible.

-Changing the size of the level ( view ) became possible.

-Editing the music became possible ( still limited to two songs )

-Recently it was discovered that new sprites could be used such as Boo, which normally crash the game if used in MvsL

Hacking Mario VS Luigi stages has come a long way. Hopefully more things will become possible and some sort of CO-OP mode will exist in the future such as using Time and the 100 coin system.

Anyone think that Mario VS Luigi hacking has reached its full potential or could it keep progressing?

You and others seem to know alot about how the game works so I was asking do you think it could be possible for MvsL hacking to progress even more?

I have a idea of how to add 2P mode I just need to figure out how to code it... If it works I will post a thread how to...

Don't think it's as easy as just coding it, i'd say it requires alot of work like enabling many sprites and graphics and completely changing the actually Mario VS Luigi star game itself so there is time, proper coins, lives, flags , bosses etc.
Not only that but "coding" a game would be even more difficult.

What's your idea anyways?

I think changeing the entrance of the Luigi spawn + The "No sprite limitation" asm hack + "Spawn Luigi clone" tutorial + Hacking the 2P coins + Making it so selecting M VS L makes the Luigi clone spawn + Changeing the L Clone tutorial to use 2P controls and 2P view...
