Hey, folks. I'm a new member here, but i'm going to make a brief description. Level Edition is the focus in this hack. No graphical changes in tiles, sprites or backgrounds are to be done. No audio modification either. I don't mind if one wants to use it as a base to his/her own hack, please do use it, no need to ask me for permission, although credits would be appreciated.
New DSuper Mario Bros., with the D, is not a typo, just a combination of DS with Super Mario Bros., hence DSuper. The main goal when I started this hack was to change the original game into something more balanced (which means earlier levels a bit more puzzling/difficult and later levels so hard like in original NSMB) Expect great use of Pipe Cannon, small passageways for Smal Mario, good use for Shell Mario and the old and good SMB gameplay we all know and love. World 1 is completely done. World 2 - Level 1 is also complete. *PS: Notice that some stages in World 1 will resemble a lot their original counterparts present in the original game. At the time when I edited them i was still practicising and learning about the Editor and now i like the way they are. Also, I won't give any release dates for the final, complete hack. It's gonna be a long journey, as i'm going to start a new job. Progress: World 1: 100% Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?nqktvjkkqvz8l56 Thanks to Dark Light and Hiccup for some helpful hints and tips! |

Posted by leonmuse Has anyone played it? Dark Light? I have played it I think you have some good ideas but I would prefer if the levels were made from scratch and that the levels were made using the same formular as Nintendo's levels. (or a better one) |

Thank you, Hiccup... Then you'll be glad to know i intend to hack all the other levels from scratch, just as i've done with World 2's Level 1. Please try it and let me know. Oh, and give the cannon warp level a try, in World 1, if you havent. See you soon

Posted by Mega-Mario Perhaps you should post more screenshots. Posted by Mega-Mario Otherwise, if you really want feedback, and don't care about quality, go to GBAtemp. |

Alright. I'll upload more screenshots later. But how come "don't care about quality?" I don't see your point.
Besides, i'm a member at GBAtemp and it's a lovely place, but i found it more appropriate to show this hack here, for obvious reasons |

My point is that if you post your hack at GBAtemp, you'll get more feedback than here, but also a considerably lower quality of feedback.
I remember in the early days of my SM64DSe thread there, some people would post thanking Treeki for the editor I made. Some of those noobs can't read, really. _________________________ Kuribo64 - zrghij |

Yeah, i have to agree with you, Mega-Mario. I saw your editor not long ago there, because i was looking for tools to hack DS games. I tried your editor but it sounded too hard for me so i gave up. I know how bad or hard is having to deal with read-none-of-board-rules noobs, which don't read anything before posting, or noobs in general. I appreciate your work with SM64e but i'll have to wait till a tutorial is made because Lunar Magic and NSMBe are my limit

I think you should try and make a level with Nintendo's way of making them.
for example: Try and make a level with a specific combination of objects. and use them in different ways. Here is a collection of notes for level design: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vdpw909v0o9k4gf/level%20design.html but just reading notes is not going to help you much - you need to practice and eventfully you will be able to make good levels. EDIT: Most of these notes are not written by me |

Thank you, Hiccup. Those notes/rules are really going to help me along the process. Fortunately i already follow some of them before reading the document file.
I need some help on why my URL code for creating a clickable link doesnt work. Here, take a look at how it looks like when i put it: www.mediafire.com/?nqktvjkkqvz8l56 |

Posted by Mega-Mario (and fuck you Mozilla for being such copycats, too) You can easily enable if you go to about(colon)config. But yeah it does get annoying. I should move to Web (Epiphany) since I heard it's better... and heck I'm already on the OS that it supports. |
