would it be posible to be able to replace certain music files on the nsmb editor just by pressing a "replace file" button and switching it with another sound file?

One easy solution is to replace sound_data.sdat with another game's sound_data.sdat. Of course, no guarantee that it'll work right (or even work).

Yea well there is no easy tool to do this. If I could figure out the file formats, I could make an editor for sdat music replacing but I don't get it.

Yea. this is on my to-do list for NSMBe since lots of time.
First thing to implement is SDAT support (much like NARC/CARC support now)
But it's pretty complicated... I once tried and failed. Maybe I'll try again and do it for 5.3
