The first three levels were fine but got progressively worse and more difficult.

Then everything changed when the 1-Tower nation attacked. I understand that it was an old, reused level, but you could have at least tried to make it less insufferable. It started with an elevator in a castle, or at least what I thought it was. Then, it continued on. I went up to the top of the castle, and saw a pipe. I went in the pipe, and it fired me up. Then I entered the main part of the level.

Lag galore. Bullet bills, goombas, spinies, you name it, it's gonna try and make you run out of lives instantly. Boos appeared too. And banzai bills. I then discovered a weird little coin path under the level. Running through it, my DeSmuME unpooped itself to death of lag. I couldn't comprehend what I was looking at.

After dying many times and using many saved states, I beat the level. I was confused when I saw Bowser Jr. run out of the tower with Princess Peach. I completely forgot that I had been playing a tower level, in World 1 for that matter.

*deep breaths*

Time to play some more levels. 1-4 had various problems such as a confusing pit and some graphical problems, but it's hardly worth mentioning compared to 1-Tower. 1-5 was pretty much exactly the same as the vanilla 1-5. I didn't have enough Star Coins to go into 1-A, and I didn't plan on crawling back to other levels to get them.

That left 1-Castle. Went in, didn't die from the slightly difficult obstacles and vanilla content that remained. Made it to the door... pit... air conditioner... thing. It's Bowser time. I then beat the boss with no battle music playing for some reason.

My rating as of playing World 1: 2/10. No offense, but this... is... something. It's just not good. Bad level design really sent it down. Difficulty, confusing mechanics, copy-pastes of monsters everywhere, difficulty... and difficulty.

In my opinion, this needs a lot of work done on it.
