I would suggest, that if you focus a block in the map16 editor and press DEL, you delete that block from the map16.
It is quite tedious to make it manually, by clicking the different 8x8 pixels and switch it always to "-1".

Added in r295. I made it a button instead of the delete key because it makes it more obvious for new users.
