Hey, I have a major bug to report: World 7 (cloud world), Haunted House, whenever I try to enter the area at the very beginning to the left (I assume the secret exit and one star coin is there) the game reliably shows an error screen. Always. Basically, you can't really complete that world. For context, I'm playing on an R4i on a DSi XL.


Two minor things: The first star coin in the World 1 water level is technically possible, but only with the acorn shell and outright painful button mashing, because the bubbles drag you down. No idea if that's deliberate or if I'm missing something.

Also, your hack kind of stole (lol) the save file from another rom hack on the same card. I think it was SMB - The New Worlds. Newer is also on the card but is fine. No idea how that worked and if that's something that can be fixed.

Apart from that, thx for your work.

It's strange I played the hack using Twilight Menu++ and I didn't have any kind of problems, I have 2 questions:

do you have the last version?

It shows a blue screen with a bunch of numbers?

I checked the level. If you want to fix it yourself, download NSMBe (if you don't have it), open 7-Ghosthouse Area 1, click on the warp sprite and uncheck "Disable Sound".

I'm also sure Skylander will fix it pretty fast but if you don't want to wait you can follow that instruction.

Yes, I'm playing on 1.08. Just recently created the file. Thanks for reporting! I'm usually only a humble lurker and never used that tool myself, so considering that my life doesn't really depend on a complete save file I'll just wait.



I've noticed that one at some point, but it wasn't really a problem, so I kind of forgot.


Oh, and accidentally, I just found another game breaker which can be reproduced: The level is W7-A "Gentle Gardens". If you kill the second large piranha plant you can enter a pipe to the first star coin. At the end of said underground section, a pipe shoots you back up. That also leads to a crash with the funny error text.

Two smaller things I noticed: World 5 and 8 run in slow-mo on the overworld map. Also, acorns are just overwritten by fire flowers and nothing goes into the item slot when you get one. No idea if that's intentional, because the blue shell didn't behave like that.

Edit: Found another certain breaker, W8-5, third star coin, going back to the regular level crashes the game once again.

Edit 2: Literally the last level, at the end of the area containing the first star coin, the tube shooting you up also shoots you into a crash. Is this hardware-dependent? Nobody could have missed that one because it literally prevents you from beating the game.
