I have a special announcement! I just finished 5-B today and as I looked over my notes, I realized that I have a total of 41/80 levels finished! The project has now got over it's peak at halfway! This week, I will provide newer screenshots, as well as a continuing my weekly updates on the project. Still lots to do, not only with levels, but textures, ASM, and most importantly, MY IDEAS. My Idea cup is starting to run low, so I will try my best. Some levels might even get redone or edited for top quality play.

Also, I owe a special thanks to my friends who have helped through the project so far!
Boochewbaca, Thierry, Ed_IT, fighter206, skawo, and many more! Thanks for being fantastic. I appreciate it!

Skylander, this hack looks pretty good, but can you put in a real checkpoint like Newer smbds instead a simply red flagpole?

That'd be pretty hard. I have almost no knowledge in coding that kind of stuff. Newer DS ASM Patches may be released one day and if that happens, I will definitely apply it.

Ah updates. We all love them. Well, here's the latest.

World 5 has an airship now! So thumbs up for that. 7-4 is in the works and if you remember the painted grassland tileset from an earlier update, congratulations! That tileset is now fixed and I finally found a background from NSMBU to put on that. That's one of my worries of the list.

Speaking of worries, I have alot of them, which I don't have to deal with now but eventually I will have to. I posted threads about these issues but thought I'd repost them here as a reminder. My concerns:

- Snowing effect in World 5 needs removal.
- The trees need to be shifted back into their places. I swapped the trees from W4 and 5 and their code is shifting them. I have no idea how to fix it, since I have no knowledge in coding or 3D Modelling.
- The World 8 boss, "Dry Bowser". He's still there, but when I change the level into an airship level, well, hard to describe. When Mario walks into the boss room, Bowser Jr. laughs as Dry Bones Bowser falls FROM THE Ceiling and through the bridge and is already defeated. Bowser Jr jumped back and locks Mario in the room. I can't even move, the game softlocks. Weird issue and I have no idea how to fix it, as I never touched the room.

You probably have more questions and I am ready to answer. Here:
-Will there be a custom final boss? -Sadly, I wish. That takes code which I have no knowledge in.
-Custom Level Intros? -Wii U themed ones, yes. Couldn't add files to the ROM for some reason so Helios is going to
replace the credit slides.
-Adding Newer DS elements? -I have been asked specific questions about this. Whenever the codes for the elements are released, I'll add some. Until then, no. Some graphics however have been taken from Newer DS such as pipes.
-Will there be a Ninth world? -Not in the same Rom. Have talked about having it externally. We'll see.
-Acorn Suit? -That'd take code. But I did replace the Blue Shell's graphics to make it Acorn-y to fit the theme. I also have levels that'll use it in a new way.

the trees are a single model. "thier code is shifting them" is bullshit.

you may want to wait til WMC releases tools used for NewerDS. they customized the world map models, including the tree model. everything that moves in a loop is that model.

OH that makes sense. I thought there was code that tells the trees where to go. Thanks, this'll help. And you're telling me that they made a tool to edit world map models easily? That would be awesome!

Well, that makes more sense to me. Thank you. Anyways, it's update time.

I finally got around to making custom level previews. I'm going to make all 80 (81 including a preview for cannon.) by hand. There's no picture of the level, just the level's name, and world number. Nothing will appear on the bottom screen. For reasons unknown, I was unsuccessful of adding files to the rom, and so was Helios, who also attempted. These will be replacing the end credits.

Also, I'm trying to remake the whatever bushes was on Sparkling Waters originally and putting them on World 3. Not too shabby so far, actually. 7-A is also finished and I redid 2-2. Originally, I made an underground level using a tileset from Newer, but the quicksand wasn't animated and the level was overall terrible. SO I redid it and it's much better. No more Newer stuff either.

World 2 is pretty much done, yet I havn't used the pokeys yet. I'll find a place for them. There will also be no quicksand at all! Yep. No quicksand gimmicks. I am using their tile animation for Munchers, which I wanted more.

So yeah, all in all, things still coasting. Lots of World 7 and 8 to do. Oh, and if you want a clearer idea of how much is done, here:

World 1: 8/8
World 2: 9/9
World 3: 7/9
World 4: 7/10
World 5: 8/10
World 6: 3/11
World 7: 2/11
World 8: 1/12

Also, World map textures are 99% done on Worlds 1 through 4. (Excluding the shifted trees.) World 6 is also there too. World 5 is around 70, and World 8 I have not started yet. I don't know what needs done in World 7, so I'll put it at 50% for now.

Okay, so little surprise. NSMBU is chugging along as it should, but may be delayed. Why? If anyone saw the "SECRET PROJECT" on my Bio, that's why. I finally started working on it and as soon as I make good enough content to screenshot, I'll post it. It'll be a while.

What is it? It's still a secret. Will it be a hack of NSMB DS? or maybe NSMBW? maybe even NSMBU or SMG? WHO KNOWS?!

The real checkpoint takes ACTUAL code. This was just a simple ASM hack that was already made.

Alright, lots of stuff happening lately. Custom previews are slowly being made and added, New World Map Icons that are way better, polishing in the graphics and tons more. Final castle is also finished so there's that. Really starting to speed this up!

I estimated that this would be released in May of 2019, though I am not sure. But the way things are looking, there might be an early release in March or April of 2019. We will see!
