Fourms/threads allways marked as read even if read on Internet Explorer 10 (Desktop Version) on Windows 8.
I am logged in when this happens.

How does the board know if the thread has been read?

Storing it in the login

Cookies?

EDIT: I made an exception for nsmbhd.net for cookies and restarted the browser and they are not marked as NEW anymore. Will post again if the problem returns. Meanwhile I guess it is cookies?

The database stores, for each thread you have read, the last time at which it was read. Even if you're logged out, cookies aren't used for this.

If you delete your cookies you get logged out. That's all.

Threads read are tied to your user. Nothing is stored in the cookies.

What is the problem exactly?
