Hey everyone, GreyMask here! Today, I'd like to announce my first NSMB2 hack! New Super Mario Bros. 2 Anew! will be a simple hack, expressing a new and revamped adventure, with tons of new experiences to play through. -9 worlds of new levels -New world map themes and re-textures -A few custom tilesets -A bit of new music -One new airship level in each world -And more! Currently, I have the entire first world complete as a demo; to play it, click here. The link contains the modified files from the romfs. New worlds and levels coming soon! I have created a Discord server dedicated to the hack; in it, you'll find exclusive screenshots and announcements, as well as chat rooms for general conversation. Here's the link. Alright, I understand that you're new here, but, unfortunately, nobody does this kind of stuff here. No one will do your work for you; its's your own goal to create your own content. It's unfair to have someone do all the work for you, while you sit back and do nothing. No one will offer the effort required for something like this. You're better off looking around the forum for ways to do those things on your own.

Though, it's still undoubtably better to make an original hack rather than recreate an existing game. Good luck, nonetheless.

Yes, I do have plans for more hacks in the future. However, key-word "future". I'd like to stick to this hack for now.

Alright, I just updated the screenshots, romfs, and it's download link. I gave the airship level some proper airship music, fixed a few bugs and issues, and also left a few more surprises (nothing to get too excited over, they're pretty basic). If you spot any bugs, I'd like it if you pointed them out. However, as for the screenshot showing the first level of the second world (or the second world in general); almost none of that is finished (especially the actual level; it's not done). If you still wanna see it, knock yourself out. Enjoy!

Alright, updated to version 1.2. Here's a basic list of the changes:
-Changed and expanded 1-Castle; level is now longer -Added a new ending to 1-A (airship); instead of having a flagpole, you do a Reznor battle -Edited the placement of those light-blue platform things in 1-2 -Completed and added 2-1 -Other minor bug fixes and edits that I don't care to remark Enjoy! _________________________ New Super Mario Bros. 2 Anew! |

Alright, as you can see, I've added new screenshots to the original post. I also updated the logo; it's a very simple change, but still. Anyways, recently, while looking over the hack, I've realized that a lot of the demo's levels were really "outdated" (considering my more recent level-design standards). Not only that, but I felt that the use of the basic NSMBU tilesets was pretty generic at this point (as I've noticed that a lot of other hacks use those as well). So, to fix all of this, I've been preparing a massive overhaul for the entire demo! Expect...
-Custom tilesets and recolors -Entirely new level design (I'm scrapping all of the old levels of world 1) -New music -and more! Finally, I'd also like to add that I've made a Discord server for the hack, but I don't think I'll actually post the link to the OP until the overhaul releases. Wait, what? Why's the development paused? Honestly, you should finish one hack before starting another. It doesn't really matter how close you may be to finishing one hack; finish it, release it, take a break (optional but recommended), and then start another. By starting many projects at once, your workload will become way too overwhelming, and, then, boom, all of them become cancelled. NSMBWA sounds cool, but finish NSMBA first. Of course, you should do what you think best, but it's best to finish a project before starting another.

Keep in mind that it also doesn’t have to be in just this thread; while I wouldn’t recommend making several new threads for only slightly different topics, if what you’re saying generally has a difference in mood or topic, go ahead I guess. It’s best you do that rather than filling up a single thread, or at least that’s how I see it.
