Well, Newer Wii had to be made to support multiplayer gameplay. Newer DS doesn't need to do that, so we might actually get some better results than before, when it comes to level design, at least.

It was just a choice if they wanted to donate to. It was not made so if someone donated enough, they would get to have early access, get to choose to add things, etc.
But anyway, let's get back on topic. |

The "Newer" was 3D modeled in the style of the "New" in the original New Super Mario Bros. logo for Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, to which that was vector traced for Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. So, to answer your question, there really isn't a font for it. |
